      * The Final Game *

      Here is a final walkthrough video with explanations of the particular features and what the markers look lile on the devices, as I have added in one for the iPhone. The small marker image still works on the iPhone, however the game is smaller so if this was for real the game would have to enlarge itself if it recognised by someone was playing it off an iPhone. I have tried to make my own marker again and it recognised it sometimes but not all the time so I had to go with the default marker.

      Dimming Lights Within Game

      When you are currently playing there is quite a lot of colour with the game combined with the webpage so I thought it would be good to be able to dim the light on the web page so you could concentrate on playing the game. I have added in a lights button at the bottom right hand corner. The results are shown below:

      So the game is now finally complete and the design is finished! I just need to video a final walkthrough of it.

      I have now called the company Dream Space Games and have just given the whole look a more colourful, game like feel. The previous one was a little too serious I thought.

      I have decided I'm going to make a few changes to the look of the website background before I hand in and screen capture my final run through tomorrow.

      I now have a level complete cube come up when you hit the final finish line cube. I just think it needs to be a bit more fun and colourful and I don't really like the name full circle anymore.

      I have added in the controls and instruction information on the mock website below. I have taken out the hit tests and scoring unfortunately as I can't see any way around the problem, however I will end the game when you hit the final finish line (still to add in), and finalise the image to be on the iPad.

      I have also created my own marker but can't seem to get it registering, so just using the default FLARToolkit one at this stage.

      Scoring Issues

      I now realise why my scoring is not working. Whenever I have moved my sphere the score drops instantly and that is because the Papervision 3D shapes have large bounding boxes and so even if it doesn't look like the sphere is touching an object it is hitting the inivisible bounding box and so the score decreases. I actually think that papervision uses bounding spheres around objects so it is even harder to make the hit test area smaller.

      Design Context for Final Game

      I have come up with the design context for my final augmented reality game. That is a new online gaming company that produces augmneted reality games. When want to play a game you simply download a unique marker and this can be printed out or downloaded off their iPhone or iPad apps and run on those devices. You would then go to their website and use your marker to play the game.

      I have called the company full circle as the games would plan to utilise the full 3D space that augmneted reality allows.

      Below is a brief webpage with the box in the middle that the webcam view will sit in when the game is being played.
